CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL
Climate Change is Real
The core problem for climate change is, extracting and using additional fossil carbon from the ground that will eventually end up in the atmosphere. In order to fight climate change, we need to curb our consumption of fossil resources. We need renewable carbon. Renewable carbon is carbon from alternative sources: Biomass, CO2 and Recycling
HTL for Renewable Carbon Utilization
Compared to other technologies such as pyrolysis and gasification, HTL is a more robust technology as it can handle broader feedstock quality ranges. It can easily be replicated at several locations close to the feedstock, which is an advantage compared to technologies that require scale.
HTL Commercial Status
The demonstration-scale activities show growing interest in hydrothermal liquefaction technologies. More diversified feedstocks such as agricultural and urban waste and sewage sludge are targeted with the recent interest in non-bio feedstocks such as waste plastics and used tyres.
An increasing number of pilots have succeeded bridging the technology valley of death by advancing the technology readiness level beyond 6 at reasonable costs to demonstrate scalability and financial viability.
